Our clients wanted to elevate their formal dining room, using their existing furniture, which was made for their wedding, into a calming, elegant space all their family could enjoy when they come to stay.

The brief was to create a light, calming dining space, using blues and creams. Inspiration for the colour palette came from blue and white Chinoiserie ceramic vases they had dotted around and we built the design around these. The clients didn't like floral busy patterns or garish colours, so we stayed clear of those.
Finishing touches
Double window treatments were applied to the two windows. Long elegant cream curtains paired with blue diamond patterned roman blinds. This gave the whole room an opulent feel that the clients were after. All the lights were changed to double antique brass wall lights adding in some period charm and cream shades for another fabric texture.
We re-upholstered all their dining chairs from bare wood backed to padded out comfortable backs in luxurious powder blue velvet, bringing in another texture to the room. These were then finished with piped back and antique brass tacks on the underside to match the wall lights and curtain pole finishes. This instantly transformed their chairs and added another calming colour to the overall scheme.
